The Blind Are Leading The Blind
66
I AM a Christian.......I believe that God is the Creator, Jesus is His Son, who died upon the cross, to redeem sinners like me, and .......then HE lived again. Please, let us be clear about that............
What I am NOT...... perfect, ( please keep that point in mind) a scholar, educated in theology, ( though I am self learned), a pastor, a preacher, a minister or any other high ranking official. I am merely a person who can learn and despite the positions of some, I can read.
The Bible has been written, it is a finished work. It is done.......we do not need to add anything.
Yes, I do watch the History Channel, I am aware of the "forbidden books", the " lost chapters", the newly found lost 'scrolls", yes, I do have some sort of intelligence and awareness.
Dan Brown, although he is an engaging and talented man, is a FICTIONAL writer. The " Left Behind" series, ( I have all volumes) are in effect, a " what if", a "could be" narrative..........they are NOT gospel.
As a child in her formative years, my Grandfather, who had the wisdom of Solomon and the patience of Job........(can you imagine that character), was a hard taskmaster, he often said to me, over the " homework lessons " what do you think" and, " what is your best judgement" ?
My wise Grandpa did not give me easy answers........oh, no, he was hard, he made me think! Imagine that.. ..(you have been called a " sheeple", you have been accused of being " indoctrinated")............but my Grandpa, made me THINK for myself. Some might call him cruel, I call him................ missed.
If you wish to know:
who is God
what does God say
how does God feel about, gambling, drinking, homosexuality, forgiveness, your neighbor, conducting your business, rearing your children, the value of age and experience, your grandchildren, honor, war, need, fellowship, the Sabbath, tithing, marriage, death, life, hell, Heaven, other gods, witchcraft, sorcery, healing, food, the occult .............I can only assist you in those verses which apply........believing, and faith are up to you.
and all the other things that we delight in debating, just simply.....ASK GOD.........read His words, pray to Him, study........trust in a confidant., but exercise caution and good sense in choosing that person.........the world is full of "false leaders" and " wolves in sheep's clothing".
I encourage you to have a friend, to have a source of information, but take caution, to not be confused.
But please..... do not follow the blind, they come down every single pike.
If you are merely curious, if you are at a crossroads, if you are confused, if you are searching..........do not ask me, do not ask other blinded people.......ASK GOD......He has given you a direct line where He can be reached.
Do not ask me to speak against the Catholic, the Protestant, the Mormon, the AME, the Church of Christ, the Latter Day Saints, the xyb church........just do not ask me to speak against a fellow believer of Christ who is God's own Son. The fine print, the misunderstood is simply not worth the heartache, either for me or my fellow believer of God. I can not build up one brother by tearing another brother down....it is a mathematical impossibility. Just do not ask it of me, and do not ask it of my brother or sister.
Speaking against a fellow believer is the utmost worst example that we can give.
Ask God about that!
The single best piece of advice that I can give you is............to Listen when He speaks.

Well-said, ONEGOODWOMAN.
Yes, Jesus did not say we would be known by our doctrine, but by our love for one another. Pointing this out was awesome. And I thank God for the wisdom of your Grandpa.
Wow..your grandpa reminds me of God..God also tends to ask me questions that I have to answer..especially if I asked God something I don't understand, He would reply with a difficult question, then by the time I figured out the answer, then I also have found my own answer...:)
BDazzler is correct. God and his kingdom are Within each and everone of us, male and female and not just a few who claim it all for themselves. One must go within to listen to God.
Great Hub!
Great hub, God gave us free will so I think he gets it and really that's all that matters. You were lucky to have your grandfather, we could all use more of him. Have you ever heard John Prine's song "Grandpa was a Carpenter"? Great tune! Peace!! Tom
Some of what you wrote reminds me of James3:9 With the tounge we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in Gods likeness.
Hi Y,
Succinct, very A to B, and non-combative. You listened to your wise counsel at a young age which separates you from the pack. I could only imagine a world full of families like yours had our elderly passed their wisdom to those who would “hear” it. We might be a very different place had that happened. You are correct in reminding all of us to look up and not out. Great job. No doubt the Lord is pleased with this.
Wow, this is so true and well said. So many people don't realize that until they think for themselves and believe for themselves, they will never feel faith. I personally went trough this when my mom had her stroke. It was hard to go through and i constantly asked God why could you do this? Finally after years of rehab my mom has almost fully recovered. And i realize through many examples and miracles, that God has plans for us.
In a world full of Lies and ruled by a dark prince, a Fallen Cherubim, and deceived Men. Who believe in little if anything at all! Other then power and authority of the now, it is refreshing to see one suggest that one, ask the original author of every story ever told, written and devised. For there is nothing New under this sun or under The Son. Lovely read onegoodwoman lovely read. Donnie/ Sinbad the Sailor Man
Great comments. Thanks for sharing!
Well said. You have a good understanding.
It's good to know and to hear brethren who defend brotherly love! That is what judges us at all times! Help us to get there, Lord, as we seek to learn!
Good hub and the key message is that we must all think for ourselves. Unfortunately very many don't want to think for themselves or question the doctrines they are given. Whilst I agree we must watch how we speak of other believers, but we must speak out if we believe another is in error.
God bless you Dear Onegoodwoman. I cannot speak against any faith who will take up the cross of Jesus and His law above all other laws. If people will "do unto others as they would have done unto them" they will be doing the work of Jesus. That's the law and I cannot will not go against that law. God bless you Dear! Buttons up!
Truly awesome. Great Hub. Thanks.
I can relate with you about haveing knowlage,I myself have been doing a lot of study as well as research.Would like your thought on this subject,it has to do with the Koran. You said that if we listen to God and hear what he tells us,well he is telling me that Satan is the voice behind what was told to Mohammad;for Satan is the master of lies and will do what he can inorder to decieve the world. He has done just that by putting lies within the truth of what the Koran is about.Have you heard about the son of darkness, well the Nation of Islam are the sons of darkness because they take life with the takeing of thier own which is a sin.The Koran tell not to do this due to true believer may be with the ones who are murdered.Think about this, read the Koran if you have not for the Lord may speak to you also. The war will be between the true believers of Christ and the Muslims who follow the false Light of God who we know is Satan.
Well done and very wise to say just enough and with enough punch. (pardon the word)
I have often said that I believe God is not so impressed with our concept of denominations, and that when we stand face to face with Jesus on that day, we will all be part of a huge awakening on that score. It's important to go where you can be fed, but it is up to each of us to seek Scripture and be sure we are being fed sound information. ASK GOD, just as you said. You 'preach' wisdom. Praise God and thank you for standing on your faith. Fantastic hub.
Awesome! Thanks for the good read! God bless!
All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you for writing the best hub ever! Straight and to the point. I love it! God bless you always
Onegoodwoman,
I just want you to know that the last part you wrote about not speaking ill of a brother in Christ was a clear echo of what I vehemently believe.
You see, in this last year I have been a victim of slander, gossip and viscious rumors, all unfounded, all untrue. My pain came not that it happened but that it came from my brothers and sisters in Christ, worst yet, they were not only my family in Christ but my blood relatives as well. I choose to continue to believe that this is not becoming a Christian's conduct. It is not in keeping with Jesus' standard of love. I have chosen to forgive and with God's help I am healing from the pain and chaos. I hope this helps you understand why I got carried away.
Again, thank you for your hub. Blessings
onegoodwoman: All you say here makes so much sense. Thank you for giving me the insight.
Brother Dave.
Fanatstic job! and I agree, your summary says it all.
Wouldn't it be great if we all could just observe the whole "love thy neighbor" thing?
When the "Messiah" comes soon one day (and I believe him to be Jesus Christ), all knees will then bow to Him regardless. He is then going to ask us:... Did you follow that last command that I gave to you? "to Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35)
Wouldn't it be great if the Jew, the Muslim, the Buddhist, and all the others (Christians) could be in one intermingled neighborhood, just living together and sharing the love for ONE God, and when He arrives He would say:
"Well done, thou good and faithful servants."
Rev.Ted
